Dahle Email Alert: February 5, 2021

Friends,

I spent this week in Sacramento, which started with meeting the California Secretary of Food and Agriculture, Karen Ross. I was able to stress the importance of county fairs throughout my district, followed by a quick Senate Session.

In Monday’s Senate Transportation Committee, we unanimously voted on legislation to encourage Caltrans to sell surplus property in Los Angeles acquired 70 years ago under eminent domain.

Between Session days, I have been working on my legislative bills, preparing for next week’s committees, talking to groups in Sacramento and in the District (via Zoom).

I also enjoyed reaching out to County Supervisors throughout my 1st Senate District to get a better understanding of their challenges and opportunities. Some of the issues include continued frustration with COVID-19 vaccine distribution, re-opening the economy and schools, and wildfire insurance cancellations.

One of our successes this week included encouraging a San Francisco legislator to drop his legislation that would have banned bear hunting. The calls to his office and online efforts really made a difference.

After Thursday’s Senate Session, I returned to my District so that I can talk with constituents, and enjoy a little family time in Bieber.

Soon, I will be sending an e-Newsletter that gives more in-depth information on what happens at the Capitol and around the 1st Senate District.

In the meantime, feel free to reach out to my offices if you ever need assistance, or want to express your ideas on how we can make California a better place to live.

Thank you!
