Dear friends and neighbors,
I wanted to give you a quick update on the Beckwourth Complex from the July 12 Morning Report: The Complex is currently 89,748 with 23% containment. Firefighters were successful in gaining 23% containment along the south. On the west side of the fire, firefighters are making great progress on constructing direct hand line, while the north side of the fire continues to be the most active area. The east side of the fire along highway 395 still has potential for spot fires. Drivers should use caution in the area and be prepared for possible highway closures.

Extreme weather conditions have led to erratic fire behavior making suppression challenging, and multiple agencies have coordinated deployment to the fires. Fire patterns, weather, and traffic updates are changing frequently as firefighters continue to battle the blazes, so please check with your local resources for the most current information.
