Fawn Fire Update from Senator Brian Dahle

Dear friends and neighbors,

I wanted to give you a quick update on the Fawn Fire from the Sept 24 Morning Report: The fire is 5,850 acres with 10% containment.

Numerous local, state, and federal agencies have been deployed in response to the Fawn Fire. Fire patterns, weather, and traffic updates are changing frequently as firefighters continue to work to gain containment-please check with your local resources for the most current information.

Governor Newsom announced California has secured a Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help ensure the availability of vital resources to suppress the Fawn Fire in Shasta County.

To all who are evacuated and have lost homes, I send my sincere thoughts and prayers. My staff and I are in contact with the incident management teams and continue to monitor the situation closely. Please follow all evacuation orders and warning from law enforcement. Thank you to the heroic emergency personnel and volunteers who are working diligently to mitigate the spread and keep our communities safe!
