Rate Increases Proposed for PG&E Customers

Important Information Regarding Public Comment

Every four years, PG&E is required by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to file an application—known as the General Rate Case. PG&E is proposing a monthly rate increase to consumers of nearly $40—just under $500 annually. That’s a significant sum for growing families, seniors, and everyday Californians.

According to PG&E, the main reason for the rate increase is to underground electrical lines, thereby increasing safety. The CPUC questioned these efforts and has suggested other alternatives.

Customers are encouraged to submit public comment regarding these changes before their voting meeting on November 2.
