Update from Senator Dahle - 12.11.2023

Dear Neighbor‚

I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving with friends and loved ones. As we continue the holiday season‚ I know it can be expensive‚ and I can’t help but be concerned for constituents who are struggling financially-especially this time of year. When you fuel up your vehicle‚ pay a utility bill or simply buy groceries‚ you are suffering from California’s policies that drive up costs. Over the course of the legislative year‚ I repeatedly advocated to increase affordability-and voted accordingly-but many times my efforts were silenced by Democrat colleagues who voted to increase costs. (You can watch here.) I also cautioned about exorbitant spending. Sadly‚ in just two budget cycles‚ legislative Democrats and Governor Newsom have turned a $100 billion budget surplus into a nearly $68 billion revenue shortfall‚ as projected by the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst’s Office.

Additionally‚ I supported small businesses‚ as they play a vital role in our communities and economy‚ and they are not immune to tough economic times. It’s crucial for policymakers in Sacramento to start treating businesses like a friend‚ and not a foe.

In fact‚ the California Chamber of Commerce highlighted my voting record. Once again‚ I received the distinguished honor of being one of the most pro-business legislators in the entire Legislature. I’m proud to champion legislation that supports California businesses.

Below is a short video of some of those moments this year when I urged policymakers to enact commonsense measures to increase affordability and support businesses-please watch.

Senator Dahle stands up for Californians

In closing‚ my colleagues and I sent an amicus letter to the Supreme Court of California regarding the Governor and legislators’ court case trying to block the Taxpayer Protection and Government Accountability Act from the November 2024 ballot‚ even though organizers gathered hundreds of thousands of signatures to qualify it for a vote. This is extremely disturbing‚ and undermines the democratic process. I will continue to promote more effective use of every tax dollar while protecting taxpayer pocketbooks.

It’s an honor to serve you‚

Senator Brian Dahle

Helping Our Neighbors

A constituent reached out to our office because of an issue with removing a propane tank from their property. A leak was discovered in the propane tank and the fire department was called. The leak was closed up and service was shut off.

The constituent decided they no longer wanted the propane gas for heat‚ and closed the account. Due to snow loads and winter weather setting in‚ the constituent was desperately trying to get the company to remove the propane tank. Without any luck and several months of not hearing from the company‚ they reached out to our offices. I’m pleased to share that our team was able to assist and the matter was resolved within a short amount of time. The propane tank was picked up by the company. If our offices can be of service‚ we are happy to help! They are listed below at the end of this newsletter.
