Constituents throughout my district have expressed concern over their ability to vote in California's upcoming primary, March 3rd. Some of the confusion has been exacerbated by unclear notifications from elections officials. So, let me attempt to clear things up.
- The first thing you should do is check your voter registration status at voterstatus.sos.ca.gov/ to verify that all the information is correct.
- If you are registered to vote, you will receive a March 3, 2020 Primary ballot with all local and state measures and candidates, including candidates for President from the political party of which you are registered.
- If you are registered as "No Party Preference" (NPP), there are no candidates for President in the Primary since you have not selected a Party. If you wish to vote for a Presidential Primary Candidate in one of the political parties, you will need to request a ballot from the political party whose candidate you wish to vote for.
- Rest assured, you will still have an opportunity to vote for all other candidates besides President.
- NPP voters will have all Presidential candidates listed on their ballot during the 2020 General Election in November.
