Megan Dahle, R-Bieber, was elected to represent California’s 1st Senate District in 2024 after serving in the California Assembly since 2019.
A family farmer, small-business owner and lifelong resident of rural Northern California, Senator Dahle is passionate about supporting and protecting independent businesses. She believes we need to raise up the voices of rural Californians to ensure laws made in Sacramento are not one-size-fits-all mandates but respect the needs of smaller communities.
While in Sacramento, she has passed new laws supporting rural education, allowing farmers and ranchers to safely protect their livestock during emergency evacuations, protecting Native American students’ rights to attend cultural ceremonies, establishing twice-yearly free hunting days to expand access to the outdoors, and improving support for victims of sexual assault.
Before serving in the Legislature, Senator Dahle was very involved in her community in Lassen County, including as a member of the Big Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees, where she developed a passion for supporting the needs of California’s rural students.
Megan Dahle is married to Senator Brian Dahle (ret.) and together they have three children – Chase, Reagan and Roslyn.
