I was privileged to stand in solidarity with survivors of human trafficking and highlight critical legislation that is being proposed this year. Human trafficking is a heinous crime that violates basic human rights and destroys countless lives. Senate Bill 14, a bill I co-authored, would make human trafficking a serious felony in California, sending a strong message that this crime will not be tolerated. I am pleased to share, the bill passed out of Public Safety Committee bringing us one step closer to enacting just laws.
