Law enforcement and the legal system must be given the tools needed properly serve our communities. As police departments receive less funding even with rising crime, efficiency is more important than ever. Community service officers (CSOs) act as a bridge between victims and law enforcement. Allowing CSO’s to perform hearsay testimony will streamline the process and will enable law enforcement to properly utilize its limited resources.
