Congratulations to Cinnamon Kern, Central Valley High School English teacher, for being honored as Citizen of the Year at the Shasta Lake Community Awards. Her colleague at the Gateway Unified School District, bus driver Monica Orozco, was honored as the “Hometown Hero” for leading a bus full of students to safety after her vehicle caught fire during the morning run. Thanks to all the educators who work with our children every day.
